Once you have submitted your software, you get listed in serp within 2-3 days.

Then I've seen effects on pagerank going on even 6 months later.

Hiyah, long time reader, first time poster.

Just out of curiosity, how long does it take from the time you submit your new shareware to all the shareware pages/shareware submission tools until you start seeing an effect in your Google pagerank and/or SERP?

I'm still going to try out your idea in the next couple days, but I just want to know how long it'll take so I know whether or not I need to try again in the event I did it wrong.

If NSIS is too complicated for you, there are plenty of other options available to create an installer, where you don't have to code.

One tip: When I need some software, I don't search on Google first, instead I search on sourceforge, because it's where you can find thousands of free apps.
In this case, it took me 5 minutes to found a free installer creator called "Spoon Installer".

Anyway I think I'll make a tutorial later about NSIS because not only you can create installers, but if you think a bit out of the box, you can use it to create programs that will make you money. It's really great when you don't know how to code.

And a last remark, I think after all that I'll let this post public, I know that 99% of the people won't make anything of it anyway. I'm repeating myself again, but the difference between someone who will succeed in making money and someone who will not, is that one guy will not expect everything to fall in his hands and will do the actions to make money, while the other will give up on the very first problem he'll encounter.

I used it to promote this website.
Do a google search on "make money for beginners", and you will find me in the top 10, even if it is a very competitive niche.

But maybe I will remove this post because it is actually a great way to take over the competition, and I should keep this idea for myself. If I was thinking about money only, I'd do crappy beginners ebooks "how to make money on ebay", "how to make money with arbitrage", etc. and I'd make websites rank top 10 using this technique, and get heaps of cash screwing newbies.
